Supported removal types
The free browser scan reports supported EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, PNG text, AI-generation fields, and recognized C2PA carriers, but does not inspect pixels for SynthID. Deep Clean instead sends an authorized image to an AI provider and creates a regenerated image.
Standard mode uses balanced regeneration at a lower credit tier. Precision uses a larger output target and stronger visual guidance. Both support low, medium, and high strength. These controls change how the provider redraws the image; they are not certified detector settings.
How it works
Deep Clean requires sign-in because it uses server storage, a third-party GPU provider, credits, output validation, and a private task history.
Choose an image you own or have explicit permission to process. The free browser scan remains available without sign-in.
Sign in, upload one static image, and let the server decode it, verify its type and dimensions, compute its SHA-256 hash, and enforce the 16MP limit.
Generate the optional free center-crop preview. It is capped at 512×512, cannot be used as a full-size result, and is limited to one preview for the same hash each day.
Choose Standard or Precision plus a strength. Verify the exact megapixel quote, confirm ownership, and submit only when the button shows the credit amount.
Poll the private result page. The service validates that the provider output opens as an image and removes supported output metadata before it marks the task completed.
Compare source and output with the slider and zoom controls. A completed paid task has one no-charge retry on the same retained source for 24 hours.
Metadata vs pixels
C2PA Content Credentials are structured provenance data stored in a supported file carrier. A recognized carrier can be removed without decoding the image pixels. SynthID is a different class of technology: it can use imperceptible patterns within pixels. The absence of C2PA, EXIF, or an AI generator name therefore cannot prove that a pixel watermark is absent.
Deep Clean does not run Google's detector and does not receive a verified before-and-after SynthID score. It relies on whole-image regeneration as a best-effort transformation that may disrupt some embedded patterns. Google or another platform may also retain server-side knowledge about an image that no local file change can erase.
What is preserved
The processing prompt asks the provider to retain subject identity, crop, geometry, colors, lighting, visible text, logos, and small details. Standard and Precision both use the source as visual guidance. The service also keeps a reduced source comparison image so the result page can show a before-and-after slider without publishing the original file.
These are instructions, not invariants. Unlike Quick Clean, Deep Clean changes pixels. Typography, faces, hands, texture, edges, and color can drift. Review the result at useful zoom and keep the original. Do not use it as evidentiary, identity, or authenticity proof.
Limitations

Deep Clean is unavailable in the EEA pending provenance review. It rejects animation and images above 16MP. A source is accessible for retry for 24 hours; start the retry before that window ends. Preview and full results may differ because preview processes only the center crop.
Reproducible example
The release check uses a repository-owned image fixture rather than a user upload. It verifies the actual provider task and file lifecycle without claiming access to a Google detector.
