Copyright and rights information
WatermarksRemover.co is intended for authorized privacy and metadata cleanup, not for stripping ownership information from third-party work. Copyright, license, attribution, and provenance can carry legal and practical significance even when they are not visible in the image.
Section 01
Rights fields are protected by default
The standard privacy preset does not select recognized author, copyright, license, attribution, or rights-holder records for removal. These fields are separated from GPS, device, timestamp, software, prompt, seed, model, and workflow information so a privacy action does not silently become a rights-removal action.
Some files combine fields in a structure that cannot be rewritten safely. In that case, the cleaner should preserve the structure and report it as unsupported. It must not delete an entire metadata block merely to claim a complete clean when that block also contains recognized rights information.
Section 02
Full reset requires authority
A separately labeled Full Metadata Reset, if available, can remove a broader set of recognized rights and provenance metadata only after an explicit permission confirmation. It still preserves encoded pixels, dimensions, orientation, ICC color, transparency, and animation. The confirmation records the user's instruction in the browser; it is not proof of ownership and does not grant a copyright license.
Removing copyright-management information without authority can violate contracts, platform rules, or law. Preserve the original, verify the license, and obtain the rights holder's permission before removing authorship, copyright, license, attribution, provenance, or other ownership-related information.
Section 03
Deep Clean and excluded uses
Deep Clean regenerates image pixels on a best-effort basis for files you are authorized to edit. It does not remove visible logos, reconstruct content hidden behind a visible mark, support stock-photo mark removal or batch third-party asset cleaning, or promise that a result is free from an invisible signal. Third-party detectors and labels can change independently.
Do not use the free metadata tools to conceal infringement, misrepresent authorship, falsify an asset history, or remove a source that viewers need to understand the work. Unauthorized commercial stock images and large-scale automated cleaning of third-party copyrighted assets are prohibited.
Section 04
Site content and copyright reports
The site's original interface, writing, graphics, and code are protected as applicable. Names and materials belonging to others remain their owners' property. Limited quotation or reference does not imply affiliation or transfer ownership.
The browser-local tool does not receive or publish the image being processed, so there is normally no hosted user image to take down. To report a copyright issue involving a public page or asset served by this site, use the contact method published on the site and identify the protected work, the exact site URL, your authority, and a good-faith basis for the request. Do not attach unrelated sensitive material.
Section 05
No legal conclusion
This page provides operational boundaries, not legal advice or a conclusion about a particular image, license, jurisdiction, or exception. Laws and license terms vary. Seek qualified advice when a removal could affect ownership, evidence, attribution, provenance, or another person's rights.
